Principle (Apply)
Overview
Principle Apply questions give you a general principle and ask you to find a situation that conforms to (or violates) it.
1.Understand the principle fully before reading answers
2.Check every condition of the principle against each scenario
3.The correct answer satisfies ALL parts of the principle
4.Be precise about conditional language (if, only if, unless)
Principle: A critic should not review works by personal friends.
Which situation violates this principle?
Answer B:
Find the scenario where a critic reviews a friend's work. Each condition must be met: it's a critic, it's a review, and the subject is a personal friend.
✗Only checking part of the principle
✗Misreading conditional language
✗Applying the principle too loosely
